I really liked this article and I enjoyed reading it.  It easily showed how subjects can be integrated together and how students can learn about different subjects at the same time.  I really enjoyed reading about the unit plan and I think students would really like it.  My nephew loves pirates and he would love all of these books.  I like how you started the unit by gaining children’s interest in pirates.  The unit seems to flow easily.  Historical fiction books can easily be used to teach social studies and children will enjoy them so much more than just a textbook.  I look forward to class and learning more about pirates and how the unit flows and works together.  I can’t wait :)
